J. Murray Stokely, age 62, of Del Rio, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2001 at his home.
Mr. Stokely was a former resident of Hendersonville, TN. He was the owner of Granny’s Wash House Laundromat in White Pine. He was a 1954 graduate of Cocke County High School.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Murray and Polly Hartsell Stokely; grandparents, Homer and Della Stokely; and uncle and aunt, Frank and Mai Stokely.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Stokely, of Del Rio; son, James Stokely, of Downers Grove, Illinois; son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Crystal Stokely, of Old Hickory, TN; son, Billy Stokely, of Del Rio; brother and sister-in-law, Gordon and Ingrid Stokely, of Titusville, Florida; aunts, Judy Blazer, of Newport, and Dorothy Gentry, of Kentucky; cousin, Billie Gail Dawson, of Knoxville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tommy Golmon officiating, with burial in Union Cemetery.
The family received friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Thursday at Manes Funeral Home.
