James Everett (Buster) Blazer, age 79, of Knoxville passed away early Thursday morning, March 22, 2012 at his home after a lingering illness. Buster was a charter member of Grace Covenant Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U S Navy. He was a retired long haul driver for over fifty years. Buster enjoyed doing service for the community and helped delivering medical supplies to ground zero the day after 9/11, to tornado victims in Morgan County and for the Mission of Hope. Buster was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Enid Ratcliff Blazer. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Margaret Blazer; daughters and step daughter, Mitzi Keller and husband, Russell of Morristown, Jamia Blazer of Sevierville, Denita Reavis and husband, Doug of Fancy Gap, VA, Renee Leonard of Knoxville; grandchildren, Heather Fugate, David Reavis, Ginny Reavis; great grandsons, Hayden and Cade Fugate; sister, Louise Heidle; several nieces and nephews; special aunts, Ruth Moore of Knoxville, Agnes Lowe and husband, Bill of Telford; special friend, Cas Walker of Knoxville, John Clark of Corryton, Brett, Marlene and Allan Summers of Knoxville. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:45 p.m. on Sunday followed by a Celebration of Life at 4 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Middlebrook Chapel with Chaplain Michael McNutt officiating. Family and friends will gather at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the East Tennessee State Veteran’s Cemetery for graveside services with full military honors conferred by the U S Navy and the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard. The Blazer family wished to thank Drs. Antonucci, Nicely and their staffs, as well as Amedysis Hospice for their care.
