Patti Gay Whaley, age 55, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at Tennova Medical Center. She never met a stranger, she loved balloons, listening to music and playing her keyboard. She was always happy; her smile was contagious and would brighten your day. Patti was an Angel on earth and will be sorely missed. She attended Lincoln Park Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Roy and Dona Sexton Whaley, Paul C. and Trula Goin Hoke; aunts, Paula Hoke and Martha Lou Whaley. Patti is survived by her devoted father and mother, Richard (Dick) and Pat Whaley; brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Penny Whaley; uncle, J.R. Whaley; cousins, Melissa, Stan, Matthew and Sophia Zachary, Jack and Dotti Whaley; and a host of friends. Family and friends will meet at the West Adair entrance to Lynnhurst Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Friday for graveside services at 1 p.m. with Reverend Kent Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice in Patti’s name. The family will receive friends from 11:30-12:30 p.m. Friday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel.
