Born January 22, 1920 Died March 03, 2012 Mary Ellen Downey McGill - age 92 of Greenback passed away Saturday morning, March 3, 2012. Mary Ellen was a member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church. She was retired from Blount Memorial Hospital. Preceded in death by her husband, John McGill; son, Harold McGill; sisters, Marion Downey and Betty Ward, and brother, Lee Downey. Survived by her children and their spouses, Edmond and Louise McGill of Greenback, John and Brenda McGill of Nashville, Mary Ann and Gerald Hines of Rockford, James and Christy McGill, David and Paulette McGill all of Lenoir City; daugther-in-law, Elizabeth McGill; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Robert Caldwell of Camden; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to Baptist Health Care Center for all their love and compassion. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Highland Park Baptist Church in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Eddie Click and Rev. Eddie Chasteen officiating. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hickory Valley Cemetery for graveside services. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.
