She was born May 25, 1909, in Hibbing, Minnesota; received her RN and worked tirelessly caring for others until she met and married Dr. Randall E. Cooper in 1931. After Dr. Cooper's death in 1961, she developed a new career direction and for 20 years functioned as house/dorm mother at numerous colleges and universities in Texas and California. Kella is survived by all five children: Larry G. Cooper of Austin, Nancy Duggan of Redding, California, Douglas Cooper of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dennis Cooper of Kailua, Hawaii, and Ran Cooper Jr. of the Lake Buchanan Dam area and their families including numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Harriet Nichols and Verna Barich of Arizona; and a brother, Warren Eddy of Los Angeles, California. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date.
