CHANDLER, MOTHER (MARY) BERNICE MALLORY - Born on March 17, 1935, is resting sweetly in the arms of her Heavenly Father. At 5:00 a.m. Saturday morning, February 9, 2008, her Heavenly Father dispatched an Angel of Mercy to bring Mother home. She labored in her earthly body with patience and endurance as a good soldier until her work on earth was completed. She was the younger of two children born to Wilkes and Jessie Mallory in Knoxville, TN. She graduated from Austin High School in the class of 1953, and attended Knoxville College. She committed her life to Jesus as a young woman and attended Mt. Calvary Baptist Church for many years. She later united with Grace Tabernacle (now New Trinity Tabernacle) Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop H. Jenkins Bell. She served faithfully as the reigning Ms. Trinity Tabernacle from 2002 until she went home Saturday morning. She was employed with Millers Department store, Allied Signal Seatbelt Co, & retired from Hillcrest Healthcare North. She resided in Knoxville, TN with her soul mate, Otis Lee Chandler, Sr. of almost 50 years and her loving and devoted son, Wilkes Mallory Chandler. Preceded in death by her parents, Wilkes David & Jessie Davis Mallory, stepmother, Helen Elizabeth Mallory, and a number of aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters in law. Mother Chandler leaves to cherish precious memories: a loving & devoted husband and son; a loving brother, James Mallory of Detroit, MI; aunt, Nannie Roberts of Knoxville, Tn; stepsister, Helen L. Hamilton; brother & sisters in law, Harold (Mary), Virginia McMillian, Dora Chandler all of Knoxville, Tn; Theodore (Brenda) Chandler of Sevierville, Tn; a host of relatives, friends and neighbors to include Dora Bowden & family, Darlene Moulden & family, Donald & Annie Walker, Danny & Diane Parton and Francis Anderson, Church families: New Trinity Tabernacle Church of God in Christ and Boyd's Creek Church of God; special friends to include Zack Flack, Lee Ross Chandler, Dorothy Ware, Vivian Gwinn, Earnest McDuffey, Frank Boyd (Pete) Mallory Sr, Earnestine Harris, April & Tony Stribling, Carolyn Wilson, Jean Chandler and the Terrell, Roberts & Lewis families. Caregivers to include Drs. Stephen C. Kiss, G. Scott Borrelli and staff of East Tennessee Nephrology, Dr. P. Kevin Zirkle and staff of Premier Surgical Associates, Dr. John C. Hoskins and staff of Southeastern Retina, Dr. Darin S. Smith and staff of Baptist Eye Surgeons, Dr. William C. Cole II and staff of StatCare Pulmonary Consultants and the Third Floor Nephrology Unit at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. Special thanks to Susan Rains & Sandy Fergerson and the staff of FMC Fort Sanders Dialysis Center. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Unity Mortuary Chapel from 12:00-1:00 p.m. with service to follow. Elder Zack Flack, officiating.
