A native of Graham County, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Bryce Welch and Nancy Pearl "Pird" Phillips Welch , and also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Benjamin Franklin. She is survived by one son, Carl Eugene Franklin of Forest City; three grandchildren, 18 great- grandchildren, 13 great- great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Crowe's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Hodge officiating. Burial will follow in the Southern Baptist Church cemetery.
