LAKE WYLIE -- Mrs. Fields, age 87, of 5043 Windmill Lane, Lake Wylie, SC died April 13, 2006 at the home. Born August 29, 1918 in Swain County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Brice Welch and Nancy Pride Welch . Mrs. Fields is the widow of Paul Allen Fields and was the previous owner and operator of Riverview Grocery. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and a volunteer at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Randall Allen & Patricia Fields, Lake Wylie, SC; sister, Alwain Franklin of Forest City, NC; grandsons, Scott and Tracy Hovis of Lake Wylie and Allen and Pam Fields of Lake Wylie; great-grandchildren, Scottie and Chayla Hovis of Lake Wylie and Sean Fields of Lake Wylie.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2006 at Pine Grove Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Bryant. Interment will be in Lakeview Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to Hospice Community Care, PO Box 993, Rock Hill, SC, 29731.
