Widener, Margaret Aster Davis – age 78 of Blaine was born March 27, 1930 and passed away Monday, October 27, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was a member of God’s Little Mission Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by parents, Dewey and Jennie Davis; husband, Richard Warren Widener, Sr.; son, Terry Dale Widener, Sr.; great granddaughter, Melody Ray Taylor; sister, Jessie Mae Davis; and brother, Gary Lee Davis. She leaves her sons, David Widener and Sue Ogle of Luttrell; Richard and wife Brenda Widener of Strawberry Plains, Joe and wife Frieda Widener of Blaine; daughters Connie Matthews of Blaine, Jennie Widener of the home; daughter-in-law, Teresa Widener of New market; 11 grandchildren; special grandson Jeffery Matthews; 12 great grandchildren (who Mamaw loved dearly); brothers, Dewey and Martha Davis, and Johnny and Delphia Davis, all of Blaine; and several nieces, nephews, and a lot of friends. Funeral services will be 2:30 PM Thursday, October 30, 2008, at God’s Little Mission Baptist Church with Rev. Lee Wayne Grubb and Rev. Roy Acuff officiating followed by the interment at Rutledge Pike Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jeffery Matthews, Jerry, Dale, and Mike Widener, and Eddie and Chris Oxendine. Honorary pallbearers: Scotty Matthews, Johnny and Dewey Davis. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Wednesday at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 523-4999.
