Darlena Grace Garner Berry, age 53, born March 28, 1956, of Maryville, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 at her home. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Retha Stephens; and uncle, Johnny Garner Sr. She is survived by her husband, Preston Berry; father and mother, Bill and Stella Garner of Maryville; stepdaughter and husband, Deanna and Cas Simon and granddaughter, Savannah Simon-Berry of Columbia, SC; uncles and aunts, Alfred and Bonnie Garner of Hendersonville, Bill and Kathleen Gibson of Maryville, Edith Hutton of Maryville, Stella Garner of Maryville; a host of cousins and good friends; and brothers-in-law, Roy and Billy Berry of Augusta, Georgia. Pall bearers and honorary pall bearers will be Johnny Ray Garner Jr., Dennis Garner, Wayne Ballard, Joe Garner, Jim Gibson, David Johnson, Dean Hutton, Greg Gibson, Dale Hutton, and Eddy Gibson. A special thanks to the medical staff and nurses who were so wonderful to Darlena in her very short battle with cancer. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Miller Funeral Home, Magnolia Chapel, with Rev. Tom Hatley and Rev. Barry Woods officiating, with the interment to follow at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
