She was preceded in death by her husband Burl Askew, great-granddaughter Jaycee Burgin, great-grandson Caleb France, mother Rhoda Payne, father Joe Payne, brothers Fred and Alfred Payne, and sisters Nora Gillespie and Hazel Sane. Survivors include her daughter Carlene Breeden, sons Steve and Timmy Askew, grandchildren: special grandson Travis Breeden, Leah Burgin, Misty Askew, Jamie Askew, and Elizabeth Askew; brothers Luke Payne, Creed Payne, and Lura Williams; special great-granddaughters Jayleanna Burgin and Kembree Myers. Additional survivors include special great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2014, at the Payne Cemetery with Rev. Josh Spurgeon officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
