Freda Louise Hartsell, age 61, of Newport, passed away Monday, July 16, 2012, at home surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Hartsell; grandparents, Claude and Lou Hartsell and Frank and Ella Shropsire. She is survived by her mother, Lorene Hartsell; sons Rodney Finchum and Jennifer Laws; Craig Finchum and wife Kathie; sister Frankie Grooms and husband Billy; grandchildren, Megan Finchum, Morgan Hall, Madison Hall, McKeal Nichols, Jacob Ball, Ethan Laws and Rider Finchum; niece, Amanda McCamey and husband Todd; great-niece, Allie McCamey; also many other family and friends. The family would like to say a special thank you to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice and Dr. Huntsinger and the staff at the U. T. Cancer Center. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 pm Tuesday, July 17, 2012 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Gary Shorpshire officiating. Burial will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday prior to the funeral at Manes Funeral Home.
