MCCARTER , JAMES E. age 83, of Vonore, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2007 at his home. A World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Coast Guard where he received 4 Bronze Medals, retired from the U.S. Air Force and also from the Library of Congress. Survivors: wife, Kayola McCarter ; daughters & sons-in-law, Lisa & Patrick Ward, Baltimore, Maryland, Sandra & Danny Moreland, Edgewater, Maryland; sons & daughters-in-law, Vernon & Teresa McCarter , Bowie, Maryland, Marcus & Rhonda McCarter , College Park, Maryland, Jeffery & Michelle McCarter , Eldersburg, Maryland; 10 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild; sisters, Ruby Brookshire, Knoxville, Linda Cook, Greenback; brothers & sisters-in-law, Alvin & Josephine McCarter , Garfield & Patsy McCarter , Richard & Ruth Ann McCarter , Everett & Janet McCarter , all of Greenback, Charles & Delores McCarter , Maryville; several nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by parents, Amos & Lossie McCarter ; sisters, Jewelene McCarter and Edith McSpadden; brothers, Dewey & Albert McCarter . Funeral 2:00 P.M. Saturday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Scott Knight officiating. Interment Morganton Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Sweetwater VFW Post 5156 and DAV Chapter 93. Family will receive friends 12-2 P.M. Saturday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
