Bobby Don Davis, born August 27, 1936, went to be with the Lord on April 10, 2000, at his home after a lengthy illness. He made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ on March 22, 2000. He was retired from Brockwell Construction. He enjoyed camping and trout fishing. He was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Don Davis Jr.; mother, Pearl Black Davis; and brother, Edward Davis. Sadly missed by his wife, Sondra Davis of Newport; daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda Davis Colby and Brian Colby of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Karen Davis Graham and Jay Graham of Newport, Donna Davis Lamb and Kevin Lamb of Newport, and Caprice Ward Black and Joe Black of Newport; son, Jason Davis of Newport; grandchildren, Matthew, Jacob and Sara Colby of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Lucas and Austin Graham of Newport, and Katie and Madeline Lamb of Newport; father, Burnett Davis of Newport; brothers, Alvin of Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania, Jerrell (Judd) of Dandridge, and Terry and Pat Davis, both of Newport; sister, Joan Davis Jenkins of Elgin, South Carolina; and special friends, Rev. Alvin Watts and Jack Rector, both of Newport. Service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Chapel with Rev. Alvin Watts officiating. Interment will be at Union Cemetery.
