Josephine Young Whitehead Wednesday evening September 24, 2014 at 11:54 PM mother departed this earthly realm to inherit the eternal promise through Christ Jesus her Lord, making her journey on earth 82 years, 5 months, and 18 days. She was one of 11 children born to the union of James Yancyman (Big Boy) Young and Leona Helton Young. On September 28, 1948 she was united in marriage to Robert Lee Whitehead and to this union of 66 years was born five sons: Ronald (wife Barbara,) Arnold (wife Sandy) , John (wife Janie), Ray (wife Jeanne), and Steve ( deceased as an infant), and two daughters Faye and Dalphine ( husband Don Cannady). She proved to be tireless in her service and devotion to her family and zealous in her labor of love for the several churches that dad pastured in this area. She is now and will continue to be sorely missed and loved by her family and friends. Mother leaves to mourn her passing her immediate family, her two sisters: Mae Blevins, and Grace Sparks, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 step grand children, 3 step great grandchildren. Our family looks to the day when we will be reunited with mother and our loved ones who have preceded us to heavens eternal shore. We will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM PM Friday September 26th 2014, at Millers Funeral Home, the funeral beginning at 7:00 PM, with Reverends Ralph Patton and Barney Tipton presiding. The family will meet at Millers funeral home at 9:00 AM Saturday morning for the procession to New Providence Primitive Baptist for interment at 10:00 AM.
