William Earl Blackwell, age 72, of Newport, died Sunday, February 18, 2001, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Rettie Blackwell, brothers, James and Eulas Blackwell.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Blackwell, of Newport; brothers and sisters-in-law, Sherman and Melvina Blackwell, of Newport, and Charles and Marjorie Blackwell, of Los Alamos, New Mexico; sisters, Edith Douglas and Mary Sue Rhea, both of Newport, and Alleta Matthews, of Dandridge; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Fred Cagle, Rev. J.N. Blackwell and Rev. Clint Blackwell officiating, with burial in Union Cemetery, with LCPL Charles C. Roberts DAV Chapter 102 conducting military rites.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Manes Funeral Home.
