BUCKNER , CLAY FLOYD - age 80, of Maynardville, went to be with the Lord May 21, 2001 at his home. He was a life long resident of Fountain City but for the last 20 years he had resided in Maynardville. He was retired from Time DC Freight Lines and was one of the owners of Broadway Speedway. Target shooting was his greatest in his later years and he never accepted anything less than perfection when shooting. He was a Christian and treasured his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Preceded in death by parents, Ulyses and May Jane Seymour Buckner ; brothers, Forest Alan, and Harley H. Buckner . Survived by daughters & sons in law, Carmen & Bob McDaniel, Kelley & David Kaminsky; son & daughter in law, Larry & Gwen Buckner ; son, Johnny Buckner . Papaw is survived by 7 grandchildren, Robbie Rae McDaniel, Dawn Trojan, Tessie Bell, Timmy Drew, Kevin, Kendal & Christopher Kaminsky; 3 great grandchildren; sister in law, Dorothy Buckner ; several nieces & nephews. Close buddies, Cecil Capps, Ed Curtis, Billy Kiser, Denny Phillips and Dr. Ronald Smith, DDS. Funeral service 8 p.m. Wednesday Mynatt's Chapel. Rev. Wayne Hubbs officiating. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home 1 p.m Thursday and proceed to Braden Cemetery for an interment service at 2 p.m. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Mynatt's.
