STANFORD , MAMIE GIBSON - age 93, of Powell, passed away Monday, April 10, 2000 at Methodist Medical Center. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Powell. Preceded in death by parents, David Luke and Jessie Florence Allen ; husbands, Lige M. Gibson, Sr. and Albert Stanford ; sisters, Ella Marie Stelle and Lois Juanita Gentry; brothers, Ross Edward Allen , Marian Leroy Allen , Walter Andrew "Bud" Allen , Horace Raymond Allen and Robert "Bobby" Rice Allen . Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Lige Matthew, Jr. and Barbara Gibson; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ward and husband Mark, Resa Kesterson, Deborah Richard, and Angie Kesterson; great grandchildren, Bronson, Loren, Weston, Joe, Miranda, and Tyler; and nieces and families, Margarette, Delmar, and Becky Roberts, Marion Stubbs, "Wid" Parten, Myra, Steve, Sandra, & Anna Marie Parten, Maud, Clyde, Martha, Gary, and Lauren Fox. Mrs. Stanford enjoyed quilting, gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2000 at Woodhaven Funeral Home with Rev. Glen Gamble officiating. Friends and family will assemble 12:50 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery for an 1 p.m. interment service. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Woodhaven Funeral Home, 160 Edgemoor Rd., Powell, (865) 945-3461.
