Mary Frances Owenby, 90, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2009, at her residence with her family present. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Charles “Smokey” Owenby; parents, Zacheary Humbard and Callie Hysinger Humbard; great grandson, Spencer Bateman; brothers, J. T. Humbard, Clyde Humbard and Virgil Humbard; and sisters, Louetta Davis and Lela Hampton. She is survived by her son, Bobby D. Owenby and wife, Shirley of Cleveland; grandchildren, Chris Owenby and wife, Tammy of Cleveland, Lisa Bateman and husband, Chris of Hendersonville and John David Owenby and wife, Amy of Cleveland; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Maybelle Melton of Lenoir City; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2009, at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Larry Bryant and Pastor Ron Sorah officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Chris Owenby, John David Owenby, Chris Bateman, Charlie Bateman, Benjamin Bateman and Jake Owenby serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. The family will receive friends Monday, December 21, 2009 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
