Tennie Shelton turns 90
Tennie Shelton of Cosby is 90 years old today, October 18. She was born in 1921 and is the widow of the late Donald Mark Shelton. She is the mother of Barbara and Steve Miller, Hilda and Elmer Frazier, Judy and Roger Shelton, Jerry and Arzella Shelton, Carl and Flecia Shelton, Iva Lee Cogdill, and the late Jean Jenkins. She celebrated on Sunday with a cookout attended by family and friends.

Tennie Helen Shelton, age 93 of Newport, died Thursday October 23, 2014 at her home.
She attended Cogdill Chapel Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by by husband Donald Mark Shelton. Daughters Jean Jenkins, and son Everett Lee Shelton.
She is survived by children LaQ0uetta Iva Cogdill, Cosby, Jerry (Arzella) Shelton of Newport, Donald Carl (Felicia) Shelton of Cosby, Gayle (Steve) Miller of Newport, Hilda (Elmer) Frazier of Newport, Judy (Roger) Shelton of Hartford. Grandchildren Sharon Williamson, Sheila Cogdill, David Shelton, Amber Shelton, Jamie James, Jessica James, Jennifer Lewis, Holly McCarty, Hunter Shelton, Debbie Jenkins, Glenn Ray Jenkins, Tina Stewart, and Donald Scott Jenkins. Seventeen great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel from 12pm-1pm Sunday, October 26, 2014. Funeral service will follow with Rev. Ransom Hall officiating. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery at Hartford.
