Kelley - Williamson wedding
Lauren Michelle Kelley and Derrek Michael Williamson, both of Hixson, TN, were united in marriage in a six o’clock evening ceremony in Destin, Florida on July 12, 2013.
The bride is the daughter of Bryan and Sharon Kelley of Jonesborough. She is the granddaughter of Fred and Cora Mae Kelley of Del Rio and the late Y. J. and the late Dean Foster of Newport.
The bridegroom is the son of Jeff and Julie Kyker, Newport, and Michael Williamson, St. Louis, Missouri.
He is the grandson of Harold and the late Betty Williamson, Newport, Helen and the late Bob Kyker, Newport, Richard Schub, Newport, and Pat Bauman, Corona, California.
The couple pledged vows seaside before a mahogany altar draped with white sheer illusion adorned with fresh white tiger lilies, blue bachelor buttons, pink roses, blue orchids, and tropical greenery tied and highlighted by starfish accents. A created aisle was lined with shepherd’s hooks holding glass vases filled with tiger lilies, bachelor buttons, and starfish. Pink rose petals on the aisle completed the setting.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and by her daughter, Chloe Michelle.
She wore a white chiffon gown with pleated sweetheart bodice and draping cascading from the empire waist. White buttons cascaded down the back into a chapel-length train. Her elbow-length illusion veil was lined with Swarovski crystals, rhinestones, and pink and blue crystals. She carried a cascade bouquet of pink and blue tiger lilies and pink calla lilies. Ribbons and seashells, crystals, and beads complemented the creation.
Hayley Kelley of Jonesborough was her sister’s maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Katie Williamson, sister of the brideport, and the bride’s friend Ashley Mullins, Del Rio. The bride’s daughter was junior bride.
The junior bride wore a tea-length organza ballgown with ruf? ed trim, a ruched bodice, and carried a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet. Her elbow-length veil featured rhinestones and small ? oral accents.
Nick Conner of Newport and the late Josh Ellis of Johnson City were best men.
Chris Suggs of Greeneville and Lynn Gregg of Newport were ushers.
For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Kelley selected a kneelength champagne chiffon dress featured lace accents and
embellished bodice, a sash, and a tiered skirt.
Mrs. Kyker, mother of the bridegroom, chose a kneelength champagne and white satin halter dress with rhinestone embellishments.
Both mothers wore corsages of pink calla lilies with Swarovski crystals, blue sheer ribbon, and a single seashell. Mother’s brooches adored the corsages.
Recorded wedding music included “Be Your Everything” as the bridegroom’s processional, “Feels Like Home” as the processional for the mothers and wedding party, “Daddy’s Angel” for the junior bride and bride, and “Why Can’t I?” for the recessional.
A family promise ceremony was performed during which the bride, groom, and daughter were recognized as one. The groom prepared and recited special vows for the junior bride and gave her a daddy-daughter promise ring.
Tamra Turner of Destin, FL directed the wedding.
Following the ceremony, the wedding party, family, and guests enjoyed a catered reception at Camille’s at Crystal Beach.
The wedding cake, featuring two layers of French vanilla and one layer of chocolate, was decorated in a beach theme that included sugar starfish and seashells and a topper of two sugar beach chairs. Clear lights illuminated the poolside setting and hurricane glass vases filled with pink and blue tiger lilies centered the tables. Scattered rhinestones on the pink and blue linens enhanced the setting.
Ed and Sue Spencer of Destin directed the reception. Following a cruise through the Western Caribbean, the newlyweds are residing in Hixson, TN, where the bride is a student at UT-Chattanooga and the bridegroom is an executive team leader for Target. Both graduated from Cocke County High School in 2006.
Guests from Del Rio, Newport, Cleveland, Sevierville, Johnson City, and Jonesborough, TN, Greenville, South Carolina, Tallahassee, Florida, and St. Louis, Missouri attended the wedding.
Pre-nuptial parties included a bridal shower hosted by Ashley Mullins, a bachelorette party given by Julie Kyker, and a bachelor party co-hosted by Jeff Kyker and Bryan Kelley.
