Hood, Nora Belle (Whaley), age 92, went home to be with her lord, December 10, 2011. She was a member Tarklin Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Alice Whaley; four brothers; eight sisters; one son-in-law; and a grandson. She is reunited in heaven with her husband of 55 years, Brownlow Hood, on their 77th anniversary. She had 2 sons and 5 daughters, Wayne Hood and wife Chuckie, Nora Mae Wooten, Mary Ruth (Hood) Size and husband Johnny, Sammy Hood and wife Linda, Christine (Hood) Oliver and late husband Robert Oliver, Peggy (Hood) Oliver and husband Bill, and Martha (Hood) Oglesby and Husband David. She had 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren as well as several members of her extended family. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Craig Oliver, Seth and Landon Oglesby, Jody and Jeff Hood, Richie and Rusty Size, Randy and Rodney Elliott, and Bryan Oliver.The family will be receiving friends at Highland South Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the chapel at Highland South Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Highland South Memorial Park and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the graveside.
