Marie Ellen Ogle Tipton, age 86 of Maryville, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. She was a member of West Miller's Cove Primitive Baptist Church. Born September 13, 1917, daughter of William David and Sarah Emaline Hubbard Ogle . She was the last surviving member of William Brownlow and Rachel Eugenia Myers Tipton Family of sons, daughters and daughters-in-law. She was a homemaker who loved to sew quilts and do canning. She is preceded in death by parents, William David and Sarah Ogle ; husband, Jonathan Claude Jacob Tipton; son-in-law, William Lee Burnett; and two grandchildren; sisters, Ada Ledbetter, Barsha Brantley; and brother, Lester Ogle . Mrs. Tipton will be missed by her children, which includes, daughters, Sarah Burnett, Lois Russell, Reba and husband, Jerry Bass all of Maryville; sons and daughters-in-law, Claude ''Jake'' and Judy Tipton of Madisonville, Maynard and Susan Tipton, Dexter and Delores Tipton all of Vonore, Jerry and Nell Tipton, Stanley and Linda Tipton, Randall and Debra Tipton all of Maryville, Larry Tipton and fiancée, Teresa Dill of Springfield, Ohio; twenty four grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Hazel Ogle of Maryville, Pauline Jenkins of Chattanooga, Viva Campbell of Oak Ridge; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest and Florence Ogle , Herman and Margaret Ogle all of Walland; numerous nieces and nephews on both the Tipton and Ogle sides. Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2004 at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel, Rev. Tommy Self and Rev. Michael Parker officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Big Toqua Cemetery in Vonore for the interment service. Family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
