E. Dwane Honea , 86, of Kipling Community passed from this life on Monday, Nov. 2 in DeRidder.
Dwane was born on Aug. 12, 1928 at Kipling Community where he lived all of his life. He was an avid fisherman and sunset photographer.
He was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church and loved his family and loved gardening.
Dwane was formerly employed at the DeRidder Ice Plant and Westvaco, where he was a power operator.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Atha Frusha Honea of the Kipling Community; two sons, Larry Honea and wife Kathy of Dry Creek and Gary Honea and wife Terry of DeRidder; one daughter, Diane Honea of Dry Creek; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Dwane was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Honea and mother, Verna Harris; and grandsons, Gary "Mann" Honea , David Alan Honea and Arnold Wade Dartez.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. at Dry Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Bailey, Rev. John Gray, Rev. Dore Langley and Tod Burnaman officiating.
Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Dry Creek Baptist Church and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. at the church.
