Appie Weber, 95, of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at Regency Park Health Care Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawson and Ollie Proffitt; children, Tommie Lee Cheatham, R.L., Leon, Jerry and Don Weber; three sisters and one brother.
She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Paulette and Lamar Barnard of Dalton; son-in-law, Erby Cheatham of Oklahoma City; daughters-in-law, Patsy Weber of Cohutta and Jane Weber of Fort Worth, Texas; two special former daughters-in-law, Marsha Weber of Chatsworth and Millie Weber of Calhoun; grandchildren, Donna Barr, Kathy Bonner, Debra Cockburn, Brent O'Rear, Patricia Poteet, Terrie Vaughn, Michelle Dukes, Jason Edwards, Eric Edwards; great-grandchildren, Brayden Barr, Heath and Haggan Spector, Nate Bonner, Allie Collins, McKinley Poteet, Adam and Morgan Vaughn, Cad, Hannah and Skylan Dukes, Tiffany Cockburn and Preston and Hayden Edwards; great-great-grandson, Zachary Adam Vaughn due Oct. 17; nieces and nephews.
The funeral is Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. John Tudor officiating.
Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roy Proffitt, Loy Proffitt, Glenn Proffitt, Andy Proffitt, Doyle Ownby, Charles Ownby. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Whaley and David Williams. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
