Barbara Blossom WELLS Barbara ("Bobsy") Blossom Wells passed away at home on April 14, 2009 at Park Shore in Seattle, Washington. She was born on November 22, 1920 in Chicago, IL to the late Louise and George Blossom, and sister to the late and beloved Ouida Reilly and Douglas B. Blossom. She was married to George Greeley Wells of Lake Forest, IL for 68 years. They enjoyed homes in Madison, NJ and Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and in 1998 moved to the Seattle area. Both she and her husband were talented watercolor artists and traveled the world with an artists' group. Bobsy was a purposeful and thoughtful patriot as well as a determined anti-communist. Her convictions were grounded in her life experiences as well as in her vast reading of America's history and first principles. In particular, she enjoyed thoughtful discussion and good conversation on these topics. Although she was steadfast in her convictions and, at times, could be a fierce debater, her manners and morals portrayed those of her generation: forever polite, considerate, and compassionate towards others. She supported a variety of organizations and institutions in her lifetime that advanced the ideas and principles of a free and humane society. In these ways and many others, Bobsy represented the best of what was most excellent about the nation she dearly loved. She is survived by her husband, Greeley Wells, their four children, Greeley Wells, Jr. of Ashland, Oregon, Barbara Wells Kenney of Bellevue, Washington, Elizabeth Wells of Olympia, Washington, Nancy Wells of Langhorne, PA.; six grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and her brother, George W. Blossom of Lake Forest, IL. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at Park Shore, 1630-43rd Ave. E., Seattle, WA on May 6, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Evergreen Freedom Foundation, P.O. Box 552, Olympia, WA 98507 or The Heritage Foundation, 214 Massachusetts Avenue NE, Washington, DC 20002-4999.
