HURST , JAMES ALAN - age 56 of Walland died Saturday, June 17, 2000 at the family home. He was an Elder in the Primitive Baptist Church Association and a member of Miller's Cove Primitive Baptist Church. He was retired from Associated Electric. Preceded in death by mother, Margaret Ruth Burns Hurst . Survivors include, wife of 36 years, Dorothy Hurst ; son and daughter in law, James A. Jr. and Shannon Hurst of Walland; granddaughter, Britney Hurst ; father, James H. Hurst of Walland; sisters andbrothers in law, Sharon and Stanley Headrick of Walland, Trudy and Lynn Burchfield of Walland; brothers in law and sisters in law, Marvie and Wanda Webb, Marylou and Alan Rhyne; mother in law, Anna L. Lail; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Sunday June 18, 2000 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Elder Ronald Crisp and Elder Michael Boring officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 2 p.m. Monday June 19, 2000 at West Miller's Cove Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 983-1000.
