  [S4] Knoxville News-Sentinel (Tennessee), 25 Sep 2011. THURMAN, ALVIN LEE - age 72, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, September 23rd, 2011. Mr. Thurman was a Marine Corps. Veteran and retired from Walker Trucks, Inc. He is preceded in death by his parents; Albert Clark and Martha Gray Thurman; nephew, James David Thurman; and niece, Susan McCrossky. He is survived by brother, Richard (Betty) Thurman; sister, Edna Ridenour; nephews, Allen Ridenour and Joshua Turner; and nieces, Pam Thacker, Billie Grimm and Julie Sands; and numerous cousins and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 26th, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Highland Memorial Funeral Home.
