WHALEY, MURRELL RICHARD - age 83 of Pigeon Forge, went home to be with the Lord and his loved ones on Wed. Jan. 19, 2000. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pigeon Forge where he was a deacon emeritus. He was retired from Union Carbide. Mr. Whaley was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Mettie Whaley; sister, Lillie Trotter; brothers, Herbert, Glen and Clon Whaley. He is survived by his loving family, wife, Irene Whaley; sons and daughters in law, Jimmy L. and Margaret Whaley, Eddie and Mary Lou Whaley; daughters and son in law, Glenda and Lynn Loveday, Barbara McClure; grandchildren, Mark and Janet Whaley, Betsy and David Jones, Brian and Missy Whaley, David and Elizabeth Whaley, Jimbo and Ginger Whaley, Andrew and Denise Whaley, Keith and Marla Whaley, Aaron and Joi Whaley, Travis and Robin Loveday, Todd Loveday, Kevin and Stephanie McClure, Kerrie and Ronnie Sellars; great grandchildren, Hayden, Hauna, Kendall, David, Turner, Christopher, Benjamin, Sydney, Ashlynn, Dalton; sister, Stella Reagan, Myrtle George; brother, Fred Whaley. Funeral service 7 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Pigeon Forge, Rev. Kenneth Stansberry and Rev. Wayne Cook officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Saturday in Pigeon Forge Baptist Cemetery. Grandsons will be pallbearers. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, Pigeon Forge, Atchley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
