Ella Mae (Nolan) Lane, age 102, entered Heaven’s Gate on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, just shy of her 103rd birthday. She was born August 14, 1909, in Bybee, TN. She was the daughter of the late Darius and Lillie Mae “Dollie” (Sexton) Nolan. She married the late Clarence Lane on August 14, 1935. She was a lifelong member of Bybee United Methodist Church, and attended until her health no longer allowed. She had lived a good long life and was ready to “Go Home”. Her hobbies were playing Horse Shoes and Rummy, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, mother-in-law and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Illa Huff and husband, Johnny of Bybee, Vena Worth and husband Tom, of Blount County, TN, brothers, James Rastus “Ras” Nolan and wife Mary of Bybee, Roseberry “RB” Nolan and wife Norma of Washington County, TN, J. D. Nolan of Bybee; sons, Hunley “Crow” Nolan of Bybee, and Charles R. Lane of Newport; daughter, Bobbie Jean Lane of Bybee; and daughter-in-law, Bernita Lane of Newport. She is survived by her son, J C Lane of Newport; granddaughters and their spouses, Tammie (Lane) and Mickey Atkins of Newport, Toni (Lane) and Glen Caldwell of Parrottsville, Cindy (Lane) and Danny Williams of White Pine; great grandchildren, Jesse McGaha of Newport, Chase Atkins and Houston Allen all of Newport and Carlie and Jade Williams both of White Pine; former daughter-in-law, Julie Lane of Newport whom she thought of as her daughter; daughter-in-law, Emily Lane of Newport; also several, nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Ella Mae (Nolan) was loved by all who knew her. She will be very sadly missed. Thank you to Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center and to her “Special Nieces” for being by her side when needed. Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Roy Dalton and Rev. Willie Winters officiating.
