Lena Ruth Garrett Allmon, age 87 passed away August 20, 2015. She was a member of New Providence Primitive Baptist Church. She loved working in her flowers and her garden. She also enjoyed canning and quilting. Preceded in death by: parents, Tom & Lula Mae Clark Garrett; husband, Roy Jr. (RJ) Allmon; son, Tommy Allmon, grandson, Brett Allmon; brothers, Charlie, Glen, Marlie, Luther, Ollie and Clifford Garrett; sisters, Tina Lee Ledbetter, Allie Jones, Helen and Mallie Burchfield. Survivors include: sons, Wayne (Debbie) Allmon, Kenny (Nancy) Allmon; daughter, Dorothy (Ray) Lane; daughter-in-law, Gail Allmon; grandchildren, Kayla Allmon, Keith (Cassie) Allmon, Nick (Jamie) Allmon, Bonnie (Ewing) Smith, Daphne (Sam) Jackson, Tim (Sarah) Lane, Rhonda (Scott) Ketron; great-grandchildren, Noah Jackson, Megan, Kristen and Isaac Lane, Brynn and Jovie Smith, Penelope, Sybil and Brett Ashley Allmon; Lena and Betsy Allmon; sister, Grace Allmon; numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Blount Memorial Hospice and nurse, Kathy; to her wonderful caregivers, Julee, Mark and Boo-what a Godsend you have been to our family! Thanks also to McKinley and Elijah for making our days brighter! Memorial service will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Smith West Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Blair officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Centenary Baptist Church Cemetery.
