Chris N. Sams, age 53 of Sevierville, passed away Monday, September 12, 2011 at home. He was a member of Roaring Fork Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by parents and brother, Stanley.
Survived by wife, Gina Sams; stepdaughters, Reneé Hurst and Rachelle Ashby; stepson, Rodney Suggs; 5 step-grandchildren; sister, Beth Sams; brother, Richard Sams; nephew, Ben.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chris N. Sams Memorial Fund at â?¨Tennessee State Bank.
A funeral service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 14, in Stevens Chapel with Rev. Kim McCrosky officiating.
Family and friends will meet at 12:45 p.m. Thursday at Asbury Cemetery for a 1 p.m. graveside service and interment. Honorary pallbearers: past and current District Managers of the Knoxville News Sentinel and Mountain Press.
The family will receive friends from 5–7 p.m. Wednesday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at N. Broadway.
