Margaret Pauline Ballard, age 83, of Farragut passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 6, 2011 after a short battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her bedside with her loving family, singing her favorite songs and praising God for her homecoming. We said “There she goes, and Heaven said here she comes”. Pauline was a past member and secretary of VFW Post 1733. She also loved to talk to everyone about her strong political beliefs. However, her strongest passion in life was her unconditional love for her children, grandchildren, sisters and brothers. Pauline spent 42 years caring for her handicapped son, Ricky, the love of her life. She was a member of Lonsdale Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edsel Ballard; sons, David Ballard and Ricky Ballard; parents, Clyde Large and Pearl Clabough Large McDaniel Underwood; brother, Kenneth Large; Pauline is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Randy Robinson of Farragut, Sylvia and Bill Waters of Knoxville, Brenda and Leonard Sams of Farragut; son and daughter-in-law, James E. Ballard Jr. and Janet Ballard of Knoxville; 7 grandchildren, Cody Robinson, Niki Whaley, Dena Flatt, Regina Delph, Leonard O. Sams, Angela Gosdin, Jennifer Ballard; 17 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sisters, JoAnn Rhoden and Patsy Mayes; brothers, Jesse Large and Ray Large; several nieces and nephews; primary care-giver, Tina Robinson, assisted by Sylvia Waters and granddaughter, Niki Whaley. Special thanks to Covenant Hospice, especially her nurse, Pat Hungate.
