Fowler, Clyde Bernard, -age 85, of South Knoxville, passed away February 19, 2013 at his home. He was a member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church for 53 years where he was a Royal Ambassador leader, Sunday School teacher and active in the Welcome Ministry. Bernard was retired from White Stores/Food City grocery where he was in the printing department for over twenty five years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Preceded in death by parents, Clyde Virgil Fowler and Nora Jane Whaley Fowler; brothers, Curtis and Thurman Fowler. Survivors, wife of 63 years, Jean Fowler; daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Larry Ott; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Cindy Fowler; grandchildren, David (Cami) Ott, Daniel (Abby) Ott, Jennifer Ott, Bryan (Kyra) Fowler, Jacob Fowler; great grandchildren, Harper and Huck Ott, Benjamin and Myers Ott; brothers, Herman Fowler, Martin (Pat), Marvin (Ann), George (Sonya) Fowler; sisters, Wanda Glandon, Frances Fowler and Margaret (Bill) Prince; several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 5:00 pm Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Sevier Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie McNutt and Rev. Don Wilson officiating. Family and friends will meet at Highland South Cemetery at 2:00pm Sunday, February 24, 2013 for graveside services. Pallbearers will be Larry Ott, David and Daniel Ott, Bryan and Jacob Fowler and Kevin Chadwick. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the J.N. Burgin Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sevier Heights Baptist Church TV Ministry or Young Life Nashville, P.O. Box 120681, Nashville, TN 37212-0681. The family will receive friends 3:00-5:00pm Saturday at Sevier Heights Baptist Church, 3232 Alcoa Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920. Condolences may be offered at www.berryfuneralhome.com.
