Margie Herron Veal, age 80 of Maryville, joined her heavenly Father on Saturday, September 15, 2012. She was a long time member of First Christian Church and at passing member of Blount Christian Church. She attended Everett High School, graduated from East Tennessee state University in 1953 and received her Master’s from the University of Tennessee. She started her teaching career at Porter High School then Eagleton Junior High and finished her career with 26 years at Alcoa High School as a Health and PE teacher and part-time guidance counselor. Her hobbies included gardening, hiking, and being outdoors. She was a member of Sunrise Garden Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, and Hiking Club.
Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Charles Veal; children, Randy and wife Tammy Veal, Rick and wife Jackie Veal; brother, George and wife Pat; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gene (Red) Veal, Helen Herron, Polly Mauldin; stepmother, Helen Herron; grandchildren, Leah and Katie Veal, Mandi Millsaps and husband Jarrod, Blair Jones, Johnny and Jenny Fox; great grandchildren, Austin Veal and Sydney Millsaps; many nieces and nephews; like a daughter, Libby and husband Mike Huffstetler. She influenced many.
A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Blount Christian Church with Minister Barry Clanton officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Church.
