HERRON, GEORGE IVORY - age 93 of Maryville, died Friday, March 24, 2000 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was born in Blount County. He was a life long member of First Christian Church of Maryville, serving as a faithful member, a deacon, and a trustee. He was a member of the building fund committee, choir, and men's Sunday school class. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company and a member of the Alcoa 25-year Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Tenna Carpenter Hearon ; first wife, Ina Hilliard Herron; son, Marion (Marty) Herron; daughter, Bobbie Herron Johnson; grandsons, Stanley Ray Herron, and Mark Allen Herron; brothers, Ernest, Arvil, Ira, and Charles Hearon . Survivors include: wife, Helen Berry Herron; son and daughter in law, Kenneth and Helen Owens Herron; daughter and son in law, Margie Herron Veal and Charlie Veal all of Maryville; son and daughter in law, George and Pat Atchley Herron of Franklin, Tenn.; daughter in law, Polly Herron Mauldin and husband,Dick Mauldin; son in law, Ben Johnson of Greenback; step daughter, Martha Roberts; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren; sister, Elvira Hearon Boring and Ila Hearon Whitehead; brothers, Warren, Ervin, Sterling and Marlow Hearon all of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 8 p.m. Sunday March 26, 2000 in McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Marty Herron Jr. and Harold G. Ray officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:30 a.m. Monday at Grandview Cemetery for interment. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family suggest memorials be made to First Christian Church of Maryville, 400 Court Street Maryville, Tenn. 37803. McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home in charge
