(November 17, 1934 - May 20, 2008) U.S. Veteran Jimmy Ray Dorsey, Sr. age 73 of Cosby passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at U.T. Medical Center due to a tractor accident at home. He was retired from Sonoco Paper Products in Newport, a man of few words but never meet a stranger a man who was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army. Ray was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Martha A. Dorsey. Survivors include his sons and daughters in laws; Tim and Lynne of Sevierville, Brian and Stacy of Cosby, Jimmy and Sharon of Newport, David and Amy of Parrottsville, brother and sister in law; Charles “Ralph” and Mariam Dorsey of Aiken, SC. Nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Service will be 8:00 pm Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with eulogy by Mike Jenkins. Graveside service will be 10:00 am Friday, May 23, 2008 at the McMillian Cemetery with Rev. Ransom Hall officiating. The family will recieve friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at Manes Funeal Home prior to the funeral services.
