Dorsey, 59, of Cosby, passed away Sunday evening, May 29, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville. Martha chose to pursue a career in nursing. During her career as a nurse, she was employed at various health care facilities including the Primary Care Center in Newport. She was a member of Bluffton Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Anderson Jenkins, and sister, Jenny Self. Survivors include her husband, Ray Dorsey, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Stacy Dorsey, of Cosby; Jimmy R. Dorsey Jr. and Sharon, of Newport; David and Amy Dorsey, of Parrottsville; and Tim and Lynne Webb, of Sevierville; grandchildren, Misty Dawn Dorsey, of Greeneville; Tyler Evan Dorsey, of Newport; John Thomas Dorsey and Charles Isaac Dorsey, both of Cosby; Christopher Suggs, of Parrottsville; Brittany Webb, Bridgett Webb, and Emily Webb, all of Sevierville; and Dale Proffitt, of Newport; sister, Mary Mahon, of Newport; and brothers, George Jenkins and Arthur Jenkins, both of Newport. Other survivors include several nieces, including special niece, Carla Mahon, of Newport, several nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. Funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 2, 2005, at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Ransom Hall, Rev. Roger Black, and Mike Jenkins officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2005, at McMillan Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. interment.
