Jay travelled and worked throughout North America as a Journeyman Lead Burner affiliated with Local 421. He enjoyed sharing stories of his travels with family and friends and how he enjoyed his job. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Fredrick and Alma Karnes, sisters, Freda Holt, and Audrey McCarter Harrell. Survivors: Brother and sister-in-law: Bill and Joella Karnes Also leaving many loving nieces, nephews, and friends The family wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude to the staff at Williamsburg Villas and Smoky Mountain Hospice for their care, compassion and support during this time. Family and friends will meet 11AM Tuesday at Highland South Cemetery for graveside service and interment with Buck Holt officiating.
