BELVA ANN SMITH DOUGLAS, age 75 of Dandridge, TN passed away Friday, August 15, 2014. She was a member of the Shady Grove United Methodist Church, Tennessee Order of the Eastern Star and Martha Dandridge Chapter # 438 where she was a past Worthy Matron. Ann was retired after serving many years as a financial advisor with First Tennessee Bank. Her life was spent loving and caring for her family and numerous precious friends and serving her church and community. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Mike Douglas; parents, Troy and Irene Smith; brothers, Rex and Joe Smith; sister, Mary Sue Smith; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sam and Ruth Douglas; sisters-in-law, Peggy Douglas Swaggerty and Linda Smith. She is survived by her only son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Penny Douglas, and her precious grandchildren, Mika Rae and Samuel Major Douglas; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Jake and Jayetta Smith, Jimmy and Vicky Smith, Lawrence and Pat Smith and Beech Smith; sisters and brothers-in-law, Johnnie and George Simpson, Liz and Steve Caldwell, Barbara and Jay Summers, many special nieces and nephews; Penny’s parents, Ray and Judy Carr. The family extends a special “Thank You” to Tammy Finchum, Ann’s caregiver for the past year. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Shady Grove UMC Children’s Ministry, 1675 Harold Patterson Rd., Dandridge, TN 37725. Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 17, 2014, 7:00pm at the Shady Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Joey Manis officiating. Interment graveside services, Monday, 10:00am at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm prior to services at the church.
