(June 8, 1947 - May 19, 2014) Iva Marie Watts, age 66, of Newport, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer. She was a faithful member of French Broad Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Selma Bible; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sarah and Albert Watts; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John Watts (Lettie Jean), Debra Lynn Watts and Robert Watts. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Eddie B. Watts; children, Sandra M. Brewer (Rick), and Steven B. Watts; sister, Phyllis B. Douglas of Parrottsville; grandchildren, Cierra and Cienna Brewer, Caitlyn Watts; special nieces and nephews, Heather L. Holt (Benji) of Newport, Shannon Douglas (Kathy) of Morristown; great-nephew Carter Douglas; great-niece Emalyn Holt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charlie Watts (Rita) of Del Rio, Gary Watts (Jesse), Ima Fields (Robert,) Theda France (William) and Gloria Watts all of Newport; special friends Judy Edmonds, Carolyn Lindsey and her Friday morning breakfast gang from EV; and a host of other family and friends. Special Thank You to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Eric Hurst, Rev. Bill Murr and Rev. James Suggs officiating. Burial will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, May 22, 2014 in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm -8:00 pm Wednesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
