Forrest “Sonny” Greene age 68 of Newport passed away Monday, July 11, 2011. He retired from Old Dominion Trucking. He was preceded in death by his grandparents (“Mama & Daddy”) Ethel and Alger Martin; his mother and father Agnes Greene Forner and Forrest Greene; his aunts, Bobbie Barnes, Mildred Sutton and Juanita Taylor; cousin, Brenda Woodson. Left to mourn his passing: daughter and son-in-law Karen and Tim Isaacs; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Jean Forner, nieces, Shea and Todd Childers, and Shayna and Brandon James; great nieces, Bryce, Brady, Brooks and Brailee Childers and great nephew, Brailyn James; cousins, Pam Herndon, Renae Venerable, Chad Woodson, Missy Herndon, Jeremy Ramsey and Tyler Venerable; former wife, Diana Greene; special friend, Eva Nease. Thanks to caregivers, Donnie Manning, Melissa Oakes and Amedysis Home Health. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 pm Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Manson Lee officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 15, 2011 at Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday, July 14, 2011 prior to funeral service. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
