Buelah W. Harris, 83, of Etowah, died Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Woods Memorial Hospital. A daughter of the late Andrew and Laura Bohannon Whaley, she was a native of Sevier County and was a resident of McMinn County for most of her life. She was a member of Cog Hill Baptist Church and worked as a seamstress since the young age of 16. She was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy W. Harris Jr.; eight brothers, Kenneth, Fred, Joe, Hubert, Lester, Ora, Dot and Everrett Whaley; and two sisters, Miranda Womac and Eda Whaley. Survivors include her husband,Jimmy “Windey” Harris Sr. of Etowah; one niece, Lisa Whaley of Etowah; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Saturday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Hatcher and the Rev. Herman Jordan officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and will proceed to Green Hill Cemetery for the 2 p.m. entombment service. Pallbearers will be Ernie Droke, Bill Long and Doyle Puett. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
