Dorothy Robbins Bartlett, 91 passed peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 4, 2014. She was born April 14, 1923 in Great Falls, SC to the late Banks McIlwain Robbins, Sr. and Alice Jeanette Peay. Mrs. Bartlett was a graduate of Great Falls High School. She worked over 25 years for the Department of the Air Force as a meteorological technician in the General Data Unit at the Federal Building in Asheville, NC. Until her illness, she was a longtime member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and participated fully in the life of the church as a member of the choir and other church activities. Her greatest joy was being with her church family as well has her own. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Charles Henry Bartlett Jr. and all eight of her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Keith Bartlett and daughter-in-law, Lynda of Parrottsville, TN and Stan Bartlett and daughter-in-law, Donna of Greensboro, NC; Her grandchildren: Major Benjamin Bartlett and wife Jenny, currently serving in the US Air Force. Jake and Clare Bartlett of Parrottsville, TN. Step-grandchildren Michael and Annaliegh Herron, of Burlington, NC and R. C. McCabe of Greensboro. Benjamin and wife Christy Susong of Morristown, TN. Great-grandchildren: Aaron Albright, Andrew and Jaycee Susong. There will be a graveside service at Lewis Memorial Park on Thursday, May 8th at 2 pm, officiated by Rev. In-Young Lee, Pastor, St. Paul’s UMC of Asheville. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Caris Hospice of Sevierville, TN in honor and memory of Mrs. Dorothy R. Bartlett.
