STORMS , STELLA (Burgess), "Sue", 73 - of the Laurel Lake section of Commercial Township, passed away on Tuesday afternoon in the SJH Regional Medical Center, Vineland after a brief illness.
Sue was born in Biby, TN, raised in Bridgeton, and was a longtime Laurel Lake resident.
She was the daughter of the late Bruce and Lily (Hayes) Burgess. Sue was predeceased by her husband Stanley O. Storms , grandson Charles M. "Chuck" Curry, Jr. as well as four sisters and two brothers.
Sue was a homemaker and in her early years was employed as a packer for 18 years at the Owens Illinois Glass factory in Bridgeton.
She was a member of the Laurel Lake Vol. Fire/Rescue Station 13 for 33 years. She was a charter member with the Sutton family in forming the Buckshutem Ambulance Corps which was the 1st ambulance service for the Buckshutem and Laurel Lake area and was one of the 1st female E.M.T's. She was also a member of the Cumberland County Fire Police. Sue also served the American Red Cross as a C.P.R. and First Aid instructor.
She was a great mother & grandmother and was always ready to babysit her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved taking care of her family and serving her community.
She is survived by one daughter: Sharon Curry, Laurel Lake; one granddaughter: Christina Felmey, Laurel Lake; four great grandchildren: Nicholas and Noah Felmey, Alyssa Curry and Charlee Cain; three sisters: Elna Burgess, Unve Burgess and Dorothy Hance all of Bridgeton; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM on Monday in the Pancoast Funeral Home, 676 S. Main Rd., Vineland, where relatives and friends will be received on Monday from 9:30-11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Haleyville Cemetery.
