Mayford Clarence Ogle, 94, of Gatlinburg passed away Sunday, October 3, 2004 at his residence where has lived for 70 years, surrounded by his loving family. Besides being a Christian and serving his Lord and community, Mayford served in the army during WWII and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. Mayford was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Ownby Ogle and son Larry Ogle. He is survived by his daughters, Betty King and husband JT of Gatlinburg, Carol Douglass and husband Shirley of Sevierville; grandchildren, Tim King and wife Janice, Lynn Rogers, Mary Lanning and husband Scott, Jeff Douglass, Linda Sims and husband Gary, Bobby Douglass and wife Ila; 10 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at Shiloh Cemetery with Rev. Danny Murr and Rev. Greg Watson officiating. Everyone attending the service should meet at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 5 at Rawlings Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gist Creek Baptist Church, 1158 Gists Creek Road, Sevierville, TN 37876 or Glades Lebanon Baptist Church, 820 East Highland Drive, Gatlinburg, TN 37738.
