He was raised in Fireco, WV and graduated from Stoco High School in 1959. He is preceded in death by: his parents, Basil and Agnes Adkins ; brothers, Willard, Buck and Jackie Adkins . Carliss is survived by: his wife, Carol Ramsey Adkins ; three sons, Mark Adkins of Lakeland, FL, Rob Adkins of Philadelphia, TN, and Ric Adkins of Lincoln Park, MI; four grandsons; six siblings; Billy Adkins of Winter Park, FL, Roger Adkins of Stearns, KY, Phyllis Pacilio of Sarasota, FL and Cecil Adkins , Gayle Woody and Rita Anderson of Beckley, WV. Service 11 am Wednesday, Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel. Interment to follow at Lynch-Bethel Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to: the Fort Sanders Foundation Fellowship Center Fund, 1901 Clinch Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37916.
