He was preceded in death by: his parents, John and Mary Nix brothers, Ben, Richard, Frank, Jack, Jasper and sister Nancy. He is survived by: his wife, Betty daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Steven Merritt, Theresa and Gary Tarver sons and daughters-in-law, David and Rene Nix , Jim and Yvonne Taylor, Lynn and Terri Mauk and Mike and Marlene Mauk. grandchildren, Jennifer, Katherine "K.C." and Aaron Merritt Sara and Luke Taylor Brandon and Cameron Mauk Daniel and Nathan Tarver Jessica, Kayla and Cody Mauk great grandchildren, Duncan and Gracee Merritt brothers and sister, Mary, Mack, Fate Nix and Ken Bell, Jr. and several sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet, 10:45 a.m., Monday, Greenwood Cemetery for graveside service at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Judith Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Mynatt Funeral Home.
