TALLENT , DORSIE MORGAN age 100, of South Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Fairpark Healthcare Center, Maryville. She was the oldest member of Hillcrest Methodist Church. She was born October 29, 1906 to Myrtle and Jerry Morgan. Preceded in death by parents, Myrtle and Jerry Morgan; husband of 66 years, Cecil Burl Tallent ; daughter, Betty Davenport; grandson, Doug Haws; sons-in-law, Charles L. Haws and Lloyd Davenport; sisters, Opal Owens and Retha Joyce; brothers, Coy Morgan and Frank Morgan. Survived by daughter, Hazel Haws of Louisville, Tennessee; son, James (J.W.) Tallent and wife, Virginia of Knoxville; grandchildren, Tammy Tallent of Knoxville, Jimmy Tallent and wife, Brenda of Maryville, Terri Haws Gibbs and husband, Bob of Knoxville; great-grandchildren, Jessica Gatlin of Knoxville, Chad Haws of Wisconsin; sisters, Hattie Walker and Lula Viles; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank special friends, Naomi Burnett, Ellen Jackson, Katherine Carr and many others of Hillcrest Church for their many visits and kindnesses during her illness. Also, many thanks to special friends, JoAnn and Dan Houser. Special thanks to the staff, nurses and employees of Fairpark Healthcare. Your kindness and care is greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 8:00 PM, Dr. Dana Boatman officiating.
