MAPLES, JAMES T. 90, died Friday, May 14, 2010 at Roane Medical Center in Harriman, Tennessee. Born in Sevier County, Tennessee, James was the son, of the late Charles W. and Betsy J. Johnson Maples. He was a veteran, of the United States Army serving his country during World War II. James was a retired electrician and worked many years at the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant. He was a member of the Church of God Prophecy of Rockwood, Tennessee. He was preceded in death; by his wife, of 66 years, Mamie Lee Maples ; sisters, Hazel Sands and Wanda Faye Dunn; brothers, Jimmy and Clyde Maples, and grandson, Eric Todd Maples. Survivors include his sons, Jack E. (Dot) Maples and Ron Maples both, of Spring City; brother, Ed Maples, of Knoxville; grandchildren, Lori Shell, Stephanie (Tim) Lee, and Gene (Lisa) Maples ; great grandchildren, Madison and Chloe Lee, Tyler Shell and Hannah and Grace Maples and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 16 at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Norris and Rev. Edsel Hartman officiating. Interment with military honors will be Tuesday, May 18 at 11:00 am at Highland West Memorial Cemetery in Knoxville. The family will receive friends, Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Vaughn Funeral Home, Spring City is in charge of arrangements.
